Oasis Therapy
Frequently asked questions

1
What happens in the first session?
Our first session is a chance for you to get a feel for how I work, and for us both to explore if we're a good fit. There is no pressure, think of it like dipping a toe in rather than diving straight in at the deep end.
2
How long are the sessions and how often would we meet?
Sessions are for 60 or 90 minutes. Most people book an hour unless it feels like you have more to say! People tend to come weekly at the same time each week to build momentum, but we can talk about flexi-booking if that suits you more.
3
What kind of therapy do you offer?
I will offer integrative counselling, mainly using Transactional Analysis (TA). That means we'll explore patterns from your past and how they show up today - with the aim of joining the dots to make you feel more resourced and free in the present.
4
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes! I will offer both in-person sessions from my therapy suite up at Bird-in-Eye Farm, Uckfield, or online. Sometimes it's possible to mix and match when life gets in the way.
5
What if I feel nervous about starting therapy?
That's completely normal. We'll go at your pace. You don't have to open up and tell me your troubles all at once, building trust takes time and that's okay.
6
How many sessions will I need?
It's different for everyone. Some people work with me for a few months, others stay longer term. We'll check in regularly together to make sure the work is still feeling useful for you.
7
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel, I ask for 1 week's notice (unless of course it's an emergency). Otherwise, the full session fee will be due.
8
Is everything confidential?
Almost everything - with a few exceptions for your safety and the safety of others. I'll send you a contract to explain exactly how confidentiality works before we start. I am fully GDPR compliant and a member of the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
9
How do I book?
You can get in touch via the contact page, or email and I'll aim to get back to you promptly.
10
How much does it cost?
£55 for one hour, or £82.50 for 1.5 hours. If you are in need of a concession, it's worth getting in touch as I sometimes have spaces for lower cost sessions.
