Trauma therapy

Many people come to therapy saying things like:

“It wasn’t that bad.”
“Other people had it worse.”
“I should be over it by now.”

But trauma isn’t about how something looks on paper — it’s about how your mind, body, and relationships were affected, and how those effects continue to echo through your life today.

You don’t need a label or a diagnosis to explore what’s happened to you. What matters is how you’re feeling now, and the possibility of feeling differently in the future.

what is trauma?

Trauma isn’t only about the “big stuff” — like abuse, violence, or major loss.

It can also be quiet, prolonged, and difficult to name. Maybe you grew up in a home where love was conditional, emotions weren’t welcome, or you had to be the responsible one long before you were ready.

Sometimes trauma isn’t a single event, but the ongoing experience of not feeling seen, safe, or supported.

Whatever form it takes, trauma leaves us with adaptations — ways we learned to survive.

Maybe that means you disconnect, people-please, stay constantly busy, avoid intimacy, or feel overwhelmed by things others might call “small.”

You’re not broken. You’re responding to what happened. Those responses once kept you safe — now they might just be getting in the way of the life you want to live.

Trauma therapy at Oasis

You won’t need to tell your story before you’re ready.
You won’t be asked to relive painful memories.

You’ll be met with care, respect, and a pace that feels right for you.

In-person sessions take place at my private therapy suite on Bird-in-Eye Farm in Uckfield — a peaceful, confidential space surrounded by open fields and nature.

It’s quiet here, tucked away from the rush of everyday life. Many clients say they start to feel calmer the moment they arrive — before we even begin.

If you prefer, online sessions are also available across the UK, offering the same depth and care from the comfort of your own home.
